The nostalgic museum shuttle train
No railway museum would be complete without the possibility to experience the charm of travelling like in old times. To offer our guests an easy way to reach our museum, we operate a museum shuttle train with nostalgic railway and tramway cars, departing from and returning to the city centre. Guests of the museum can embark the shuttle train at any station listed below and take the next shuttle after the visit to bring them back to the centre. The shuttle train is generally in service on opening days of the museum.
The timetable of the shuttle service is not binding. The operating hours can be seen below. We apologize that we are not able to serve other stations than the ones listed below for operational reasons. There is no obligation or explicit right for transportation on our shuttle service. The terms of transportation of the Tiroler MuseumsBahnen apply.

In advent 2024, the Tiroler MuseumsBahnen will operate the Christmas Tram consisting of the festively decorated vintage cars 19 and 147. The round trips are carried out on behalf of both the City of Innsbruck and the Innsbrucker Verkehrsbetriebe GmbH and are all free!
The tram circulates on Fridays and Saturdays between the 29th of November and the 21st of December 2024 from 3:00pm to 6:30pm in the city centre of Innsbruck. An adventure for everyone!
Following stops will be served:
- Hauptbahnhof/Main Station (short break, Platform D, Stubaitalbahn)
- Triumphpforte (northern platform)
- Anichstraße/Rathausgalerien (northern platform)
- Bürgerstraße (eastern platform)
- Terminal/Marktplatz (southern platform)
- Maria-Theresien-Straße (southern platform)
- Museumstraße (southern platform)
- Landesmuseum (southern platform)
The Christmas Tram departs at the Stubaitalbahnhof at 3:00pm and at Hauptbahnhof/Mainstation every half and every full hour until 6:00pm.
Warning: Baby strollers cannot be transported on the tram. The timetable of the Christmas Tram is not binding and there is no obligation to transport.
